All about AR and VR trends

What is AR?

Augmented reality (AR) adds digital elements to a live view using the camera on a smartphone. It is when you look at the real world and see it overlaid, or augmented, with location-specific information and graphics. The best examples of augmented reality experiences include Snapchat lenses and the game Pokemon Go.

What is VR?

Virtual reality (VR) implies a complete immersion experience that shuts out the physical world. Using VR devices such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard, users can be transported into a number of real-world and imagined environments. VR is when the sights and sounds around you are replaced with virtual, computer-generated ones. The environment that results can be quite natural. The most important parts of virtual reality are one thing to just look around a 3D space, but to be able to move around it and touch and interact with objects.

These two technologies seem confusingly similar but are utterly different.

Though both AR and VR are growing, AR is getting more share of the pie. AR plays a big role to bring content, interactions with customers and services. The nature of augmented reality, blanketing the real world with digital content, helps in driving interaction with a customer in a physical space to display a wide a variety of products.
